MANGO (CN)
E' situato a 521 metri di altitudine nelle Langhe Occidentali. Secondo lo storico locale Don Battista Pio la fondazione di Mango sarebbe avvenuta con la distruzione di tre castelli o torriglioni situati nelle località Prave, Vene e Vaglio, i cui abitanti si riunirono sulla sommità della collina e diedero vita attorno al XIII secolo ad un nuovo insediamento. Feudo dei Marchesi del Vasto passò in seguito ai Marchesi del Monferrato, che nel 1344 ne investirono i Marchesi di Busca, ai quali si deve la costruzione dell'attuale castello.Il Comune di Mango ha dato vita ad una interessante iniziativa a favore del cane, il migliore amico dell'uomo, erigendogli una stele monumentale ed organizzando, ogni anno, interessanti concorsi sul tema e manifestazioni cinofile di notevole rilievo. La viticoltura è il perno dell'economia agricola di Mango; è impostata principalmente sulla produzione di Uve Moscato e Barbera, vini blasonati a D.O.C. Si affianca alla viticoltura, la produzione cerealicola a foraggera.La chiesa parrocchiale del capo-luogo è dedicata ai santi Giacomo e Cristoforo.

Mango is situated 521 meters above sea level in the Western Langhe in Piedmont. According to local historian Don Battista Pio, the founding of Mango took place following the destruction of three castles located in Prave, Vene and Vaglio, whose inhabitants gathered on the hilltop and established a new settlement around the thirteenth century. A feud of the Marquis of Vasto, it later passed to the Marquis of Monferrato and in 1344 to the Marquis of Busca, to whom we owe the construction of the castle. The town of Mango has dedicated an interesting initiative in favour of the dog, man’s best friend, by erecting a monumental stele and organizing, every year, interesting competitions on the theme and dog shows of considerable importance. Viticulture is the pivot of Mango's agricultural economy; it is mainly based on the production of Grapes Moscato and Barbera, wines emblazoned with D.O.C. It is flanked by viticulture, cereal production in “foraggera”. The parish church in Mango is dedicated to the saints James and Christopher.

Prendere l’autostrada Torino-Piacenza, uscire ad Asti Est, proseguire e prendere l’autostrada A33 per Cuneo. Uscire a Castagnito, seguire le indicazioni per Neive e poi le segnalazioni per Mango.

How to reach Mango
​Take the Turin-Piacenza motorway (A21), exit at Asti Est, continue and take the A33 motorway to Cuneo. Exit at Castagnito, follow the signs for Neive and then the signs for Mango.
